History of The "LEGENDARY" ZETA CHAPTER

"The Legendary Zeta" Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was founded on January 4th, 1921. The "Zeta" Chapter became the first Greek-lettered organization to be established in the deep (dirty)south. Walter A. Clarke of the Zeta chapter became the fourth National President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The charter members of the "Zeta" chapter were:

  1. R.L. Gordon- President
  2. R.T. Lawrence- Vice- President
  3. R.C. Jones- Recording Secretary
  4. J.M. Dasher- Corresponding Secretary
  5. R.A. Billing- Financial Secretary
  6. C.J. Washington- Treasurer
  7. J.S. Wilkerson-Marshall
  8. C.E. Wingfield- Editor

The Third Annual Conclave was held by Phi Beta Sigma, and was hosted by Morris Brown's"Legendary" Zeta Chapter on December 28-31, 1921.
